The Origins of Raiden
In 1990, Seibu Kaihatsu created this vertical shooting game and first of the Raiden series. The simple controls--directional movement and weapons--combined with subtle difficulty and detailed pixel art style, made Raiden an instant success and established it among the greats in the pantheon of shooting games.
Raiden III was released in 2005 and was the first 3D entry in the series. Despite being released eleven years after its predecessor, it faithfully retained the classic Raiden essence fans love.
Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Raiden series and marks 18 years after the game's initial release on PS2™, PC, and in arcades. It boasts a multitude of new features on the latest hardware.
Mikado Game Center's Roots
Mikado Game Center is an arcade renowned for its retro classics and revered by the shooting game community. There are two locations across Takadanobaba and Ikebukuro. The events they host, like the Spring Shooting Festival, bring excitement to the community, and their active presence on streaming platforms fosters a dedicated and engaging relationship with their fans. Representative and Manager of Mikado Game Center, Minoru Ikeda (a.k.a IkedaMinoRock) is particularly involved with the Raiden series, as he plays guitar for its official band, Heavy Metal Raiden.
